 Chapter 1 

  1. Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
  2. Before he came forth out of the womb, God ordained him a prophet to the nations

  4. A rod of an almond tree and a seething pot
  5. A defended city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah

 Chapter 2 

  1. They defiled the land
  2. That which does not profit.
  3. They forsook God, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that could hold no water

Chapter 3 

  1. Pastors according to God’s heart, who would feed them with knowledge and understanding.

Chapter 4 

  1. Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart
  2. Laid waste, forsaken and broken down
  3. They were foolish, had not known God; silly, had no understanding, were wise to do evil, but to do good they had no knowledge

Chapter 5 

  1. One that executes judgment, that seeks the truth
  2. A mighty nation who would eat up their harvest,  bread, flocks, and  herds

Chapter 6 

  1. It was to them a reproach; they had no delight in it
  2. Covetousness
  3. They were not  ashamed, neither could they blush
  4. For the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls

  1. Amend their ways and doings
  2. Man, beast, the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground
  3. They listened not, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck

Chapter 8 

  1. Spread them out before the sun
  2. Perpetual
  3. The stork in the heaven , the turtle, the crane and the swallow
  4. The harvest and summer

  1. That he might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of his people
  2. Heaps and a den of dragons

  1. The man that obeys not the words of the covenant,

  3. The gods to whom they offer incense

Chapter 12 

  1. Why does the way of the wicked prosper?  why are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

  1. A girdle
  2. Dash them one against another and destroy them
  3. Carried away captive
  4. An Ethiopian trying to change his skin or a leopard his spots

Chapter 14 

  1. The wickedness, iniquities, many backslidings and sins against God
  2. For Judah’s good
  3. Lies, false visions and deceits
  4. Sword and famine shall consume those prophets

Chapter 16 

  1. Marry, enter into the house of mourning or the house of feasting
  2. They shall die of grievous deaths
  3. The voice of mirth, gladness, and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride
  4. Because their fathers had forsaken the LORD, and walked after other gods, and they did worse than their fathers
  5. His hand, and that His name is The LORD

  1. On the table of their hearts, and on the horns of their altars
  2. The man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD
  3. The man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD

Chapter 18 

  1. To the potter’s house
  2. For them to quit their evil ways and instead make their ways and doings good
  3. Put him in a pit and hide snares for his feet

Chapter 20                        

  1. Smote him and put him in the stocks
  2. He would become a terror to himself, and to all his friends, who would fall by the sword, and his eyes would behold it:
  3. God’s word was in his heart as a burning fire shut up in his bones
  4. Why came I forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

Chapter 21 

  1. Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants
  2. He that goes out of the city and falls to the Chaldeans that besieged them

Chapter 22 

  1. Because they had forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them
  2. He would die in the place where they led him captive
  3. He would be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem
  4. He would be given into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, into another country, where he was not born; and there die

  1. The pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of God’s pasture
  2. A righteous Branch
  3. Both prophet and priest
  4. Am I a God at hand and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Do not I fill heaven and earth?

  6. By their lies, and by their lightness

Chapter 24 

  1. After Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah
  2. Them that are carried away captive of Judah
  3. The residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land

Chapter 29 

  1. The residue of the elders which were carried away captives, the priests, the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon
  2. Cause them to return to Jerusalem
  3. When they would search for God with all their heart
  4. What was going to happen to the false prophets Ahab and Zedekiah? (21-22) Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon would slay them

  1. Write all the words in a book
  2. Make a full end of them
  3. Because their adversaries called Judah an Outcast

  2. He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock

  4. God will put His law in their inward parts, write it in their hearts, will be their God, and they shall be His people

  4. Ah Lord GOD! behold, you have made the heaven and the earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you
  5. He would gather the Jews out of all countries, bring them to Jerusalem and they would be His people

  1. The LORD is good; for his mercy endures for ever
  2. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured

Chapter 34 

  1. God will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire, and Zedekiah would not escape out of his hand
  2. Give them liberty at the end of seven years

  2. He would not be without a man to stand before God for ever

  1. On a roll of a book
  2. All the people
  3. He cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed
  4. His dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost
  5. They wrote all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire and added more

Chapter 37 

  1. They would fight against Jerusalem, take it, and burn it with fire
  2. Smote him, and put him in prison
  3. He wanted to hear a word from the LORD
  4. He commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread

Chapter 38 

  1. They said he weakened the hands of the men of war that remained in Jerusalem and that he sought not the welfare of the people, but the hurt
  2. In a dungeon where there was no water but mire
  3. He along with others drew Jeremiah out of the dungeon
  4. If he would go forth to the king of Babylon's princes
  5. Until the day that Jerusalem was taken

Chapter 39 

  1. He slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, put out Zedekiah's eyes, bound him with chains and carried him to Babylon
  2. Burned the king's house and broke down the walls of Jerusalem
  3. The poor of the people
  4. Take him,  look well to him, and do him no harm but do to him even as he says
  5. God would deliver him, and he would not fall by the sword

Chapter 40 

  1. Gedaliah
  2. To either go to Babylon with him or stay in the land
  3. The Jews that were in Moab, among the Ammonites, Edom, and that were in all the countries
  4. Johanan the son of Kareah

  1. Ishmael and ten men smote Gedaliah with the sword
  2. Into the middle of the pit
  3. Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him

1.       Pray for them that the LORD would show them what they should do

2.       God would build and plant them and deliver them from the king of Babylon

3.       The sword and famine would follow them to Egypt and they would die

  3. God made the earth by his power, he established the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heaven by his understanding

  6. All the evil that should come on Babylon
  7. Bind a stone to it, cast it into the middle of Euphrates, and say, Thus shall Babylon sink and not rise

Chapter 52 

  1. 4600
  2. Brought him out of prison, set up his throne, changed his garments and fed him every day
