Colossians Chapter 1

1.             An apostle of Jesus Christ

21.         Continue in the faith, don’t be moved away

Colossians Chapter 2

1.      That their hearts might be comforted united in love, that they might walk in Christ as they received Him; that they might be rooted and built up in Him

2.      Enticing words, hollow and deceptive philosophy

3.      Just as you received Him

4.      All

5.      You don’t need any other

6.      Baptism

7.      The written code, with its regulations, that was against us

8.      Meat, drink, respect of an holy day, new moon, or Sabbath day

9.      A shadow of the things that were to come (the reality)

10.         False humility, worshipping angels, lost connection with the Head, neglect of the body

11.         Image of the invisible God, the first born of every creature, By him were all things created, Before all things, by him all things consist,      Head of the body, the beginning, the , Firstborn from the dead, In Him should all fullness dwell, In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, In him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, Head of all principality and power

 

 

Colossians Chapter 3

1.      Seek and set your affections on things which are above

2.      When Christ shall appear, we also will appear with him in glory

3.      Fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, covetousness which is idolatry

4.      The wrath of God comes on them

5.      Anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, lying

6.      Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, Barbarian or Scythian, bond or free

7.      Mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forbearance, forgiveness

8.      Charity which is the bond of perfectness

9.      Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, be thankful, let the word of God dwell in you richly, admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs

10.     Whatever we do to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him

11.     The husband—wife relationship comes first and is the most important. Non-family relationships are listed last and are the least important

12.     Submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord

13.     Love your wives and be not bitter against them

14.     Children are to obey parents but fathers are not to provoke children to anger

15.     Servants are to obey in all things but masters are to provide servants what is right and fair

16.     With eyeservice as men pleasers

17.     Do them heartily (with all your heart) as working for the Lord and not for men

 

Colossians Chapter 4

1.      Watching, thankful

2.      That God would open a door for his message

3.      He said he was in bonds (chains), He refers to Aristarchus as a fellow prisoner, He asked the Colossians to remember his bonds (chains)

4.      Walk in wisdom, redeem the time, let their speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that they may be able to answer everyone properly

5.             Tychicus

6.             1) Tell them news about Paul and his condition, 2) Find out how the Colossians were doing, 3) To comfort and encourage them

7.             Onesimus

8.              Aristarchus, Mark, Justus, Epaphras, Luke, and Demas

9.             One of you, a servant of Christ, one who labored fervently for them in prayer,

10.         He was a beloved physician

11.         Not only among them but also to the church at Laodicea

12.         Take heed and complete the ministry which he had received in the Lord
