Philippians Chapter 1

1.             Upon every remembrance of them, always

2.             That he which began in them a good work will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

3.             He refers to being in bonds

4.             1) That your love may abound, 2) That ye may approve things tht are excellent, 3) That they might be sincere and without offense and filled with the fruits of righteousness

5.             Some of envy and strife, some of good will, some of contention, some of love, some in pretense and some of strife

6.             To live is Christ, to die is gain. In dying he would be with Christ but to abide in the body was more needful to the Philippians

7.             As it becometh the gospel of Christ

 

Philippians Chapter 2

1.             Strife or vainglory

2.             Better than ourselves

3.             The interest of others

4.             Made himself of no reputation, took on him the form of a servant, obedient even to death on the cross

5.             God gave him a name which is above all others and at that name every knee should bow and every tongue confess

6.             With fear and trembling

7.             Both to will and to do of his pleasure

8.             Without murmurings and disputings

9.             Blameless and harmless, the sons of God without rebuke, lights in the world

10.         Rejoice

11.         So he would be of good comfort when he knew of their condition

12.         He had no man likeminded who would naturally care for their condition. As a son with the Father, Timothy served with Paul in the gospel

13.         Sick nigh unto death

14.         The work of Christ to supply Paul’s needs

 

Philippians Chapter 3

1.             Circumcized the 8th day, an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, a Pharisee persecuting the church

2.             For the excellency of the knowledge of Christ…that I might win Christ

3.             The righteousness that comes from God and is by faith

4.             Christ, the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his suffering

5.             The resurrection of the dead

6.             Those things which are behind

7.             Toward that which is ahead, the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

8.             An example

9.             Those whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things

10.         In heaven

 

Philippians Chapter 4

1.             Women and other fellow laborers whose names are in the book of life

2.             Rejoice

3.             Your moderation (gentleness0

4.             By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving

5.             All understanding

6.             Whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue, praiseworthy

7.             Of their renewed concern for him

8.             To be content whether he was in need or had plenty

9.             That they shared with him several times

10.         Fruit that may abound to their account

11.         All of our needs

12.         Those who belonged to Caesar’s household
