2009 - “The Year of the Big Move!”
Two reasons for moving;
1) Our house in Chula Vista was a
two story. Since Jane still has some
challenges after her knee repair
surgery last year we felt it best to
get a single story house.
2) Our children wanted us to live
closer to them.
Our new address is:
Arlo and Jane Moehlenpah
13057 Triumph Drive
Poway, CA 92064
Selling our old house was easier and
quicker than we anticipated. We were
told it would take about 75 days to
sell a house but we had four offers
in one week. We think Lina’s help in
staging was a big factor.
Purchasing a single story house in a
nice neighborhood in Poway turned
out to be more difficult and we
lived with our daughter, Glenda, for
five months. We are now less than
three miles from each of our
children.
We
downsized by more than 400 square
feet and are trying to get
organized. Although we gave away
many books and some furniture, we
are still making decisions as to
what we really want to keep. We
appreciate everyone who helped with
the move. After some needed upgrades
to the paint and flooring, we began
living here December 13. Although
four rooms are livable, there are
still many boxes yet to unpack. We’d
like to invite you to visit, but the
wall bed in our guest bedroom still
needs to be installed!
Even though our move took much time,
our ministry this year included
teaching Creation and Teaching
Methods courses at ABI, Acts and
Genesis courses at CSTI, conducting
Teacher training seminars in CA and
TX, speaking at churches in CA, MI,
OK, MN and WI and a men’s retreat.
One of the highlights of the year
was having the privilege to be the
day speaker at the outstanding
Oklahoma District Camp Meeting.
We
are blessed to be near our children
and have had many more opportunities
to visit with them this year. Ed is
blessed to be working for Sun
MicroSystems, Lina’s organizational
skill has been a big help to us. As
for their children, Jonathan moved
back to San Diego, Krista and her
husband, Matt, live in Lodi, Kayla
is attending college and Jaron is in
sixth grade. Glenda continues to do
financial and tax planning with her
company, Financial Bridges and Sam
and Kerri continue to do Marriage
and Family counseling with Family
Consultation Services. Both
of their girls, Joshyln and Atalie,
attend school in a total Spanish
immersion format.
We
wish you a Merry Christmas and a
blessed New Year.
